Who It's For

For young to mid-career professionals who want to

  • Understand where their money actually goes each month
  • Build a realistic budget on a salary that finally feels real
  • Set up a savings plan for a move, a home, school, or a goal with a date on it
  • Get ahead of irregular spending instead of being surprised by it
  • Take risks — a move, a lease, a job change — with confidence

The Process

How it works

01

We talk.

A private conversation, about 45 minutes, on your income, obligations, and what you're working toward. Nothing to prepare.

02

I build your plan.

Your cash-flow map, your budget, and your savings schedule, with the key risks and trade-offs written down in plain language, built around your actual numbers.

03

We walk through it.

Together, line by line, until you could explain it to someone else. The plan, the budget, and the spreadsheet are yours to keep, with access to a private client portal.

One flat fee, quoted in full after the intro call. Most engagements fall between $150 and $300, depending on complexity. No commissions, no products, nothing sold.

Philosophy

A good plan doesn't minimize risk.
It makes the space to take compensated ones.

When people think of risk, they think financial. Every decision carries risk. Balancing enjoyment with the future. The aspirations that live at 3am. The lack of a decision is a decision.

The Practice

Who you're working with

Pirie Capital is a one-person practice, run by someone who was in your place. He spent years planning his own money down to the dollar — the budgets, the savings schedules, the trade-offs — to make the space to take compensated risks. If you were referred here, you already know who. The work is practical, plain-language budgeting and cash-flow planning for people building their careers.

Getting in Touch

Request an introduction

I take on a small number of clients, and most arrive by referral. If a client or friend sent you here, mention who. It helps. If not, write anyway. A few lines about your situation and what you're trying to sort out is plenty. One thing to know before you write is that I don't give investment advice or manage money. The work here is planning, structure, and understanding.
